College is a turbulent time, sometimes you find yourself working at a high school, installing their networking systems. Sometimes you’re working at a graphic design studio photoshopping ex-partners out of large format. Sometimes you’re working for a furniture company in their advertising department building out their e-commerce catalog. All this while attending college and learning everything I can.
What I Learned:
Looking back, I feel like most of the technology I learned while in school was dated, but the real thing I learned was how to teach myself new things. This would come in handy immediately after I graduated and had to throw away all the technology skills I learned in favor of learning new ones. Some of those things did stick with me though.
- Audio Production
- Video Production
- Graphic Design and Art Theory

- So much Macromedia Director.
- Got a degree in Interactive Media Design at The Art Institute of Houston
What I Did:
- The most notable thing I did from a for-hire perspective during this time was to animate a Flash graphic logo. Yes, that Flash. It’s mostly notable because it was my first time freelancing, and I learned a lot about how to work with a business on a for-hire basis.
